Awudu Abass has been battling injuries throughout recent years. After getting back on the court, the player has now received clarity regarding his future.

Abass has reportedly reached an agreement with Virtus Segafredo Bologna to extend his contract with the organization for an additional year, via La Repubblica Bologna.

The 30-year-old's deal was set to end after the 2023-24 season. Abass will now play for the Italian team until 2025. The player has reportedly agreed to spread his current salary over the next two years of the contract.

Abass managed to play only 7 EuroLeague games after his comeback, averaging 6.4 points and 1 rebound for 5.7 PIR in 16 minutes of playing time. In the Italian League, his stats were a bit worse - 2.9 points and 1.5 rebounds for 2.4 PIR.

So far this offseason, Virtus have signed Achille Polonara and Bruno Mascolo, and extended contracts with Marco Belinelli and Isaia Cordinier.
