Holland thanked the fans for an amazing journey and said he'd never forget the chapter in Crvena Zvezda. He wasn't registered for either of the two tournaments Crvena Zvezda won this season.
Following a winning season with Frutti Extra Bursasport, John Holland transferred to Crvena Zvezda Meridianbet Belgrade but his stop in Serbia wasn't a long one.
After a year with the club from Kalemegdan, the 34-year-old has announced that he will search for a new club to continue his career in.
"It was an honor and a pleasure to share a season of my life with all of you. The journey was amazing," he wrote in an Instagram post. "The story continues but I will never forget this chapter."
In 22 games for the club in the EuroLeague, Holland averaged 3.6 points and 2.8 PIR. He appeared in just 15 games in the ABA League, averaging 4.3 points and 2.5 PIR.
While Crvena Zvezda won two titles this season - the Serbian Cup and the Serbian League, Holand wasn't registered in any of the two tournaments.
Crvena Zvezda now face a barrage of expired contracts after the 2022-23 season with multiple starting-five players either set to leave the club or uncertain for the future. Most recently, Luca Vildoza officially joined Panathinaikos Athens. Facundo Campazzo reportedly has a deal in place with Real Madrid, Luka Mitrovic's contract negotiations have reportedly stalled, while Filip Petrusev has serious interest from the NBA.
