Baron will be out for 2 months and will miss the Italian Super Cup, head coach Ettore Messina announced.
After winning the Italian League (LBA) trophy in the all-deciding Game 7, EA7 Emporio Armani Milan's guard Billy Baron will spend some time without playing basketball.
The team's head coach Ettore Messina has announced that Baron was playing through an injury during the LBA finals and will undergo surgery this week. The player is expected to be sidelined for two months.
Baron will miss the Italian Super Cup, Messina said.
After joining the club last year, the 32-year-old guard still has one year left in his contract with Milan.
In 30 games in the EuroLeague, he averaged 11.0 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists for 11.1 PIR. He was close to joining the coveted 50/40/90 club as he shot two-pointers at 58.8%, three-pointers at 40.3%, and free throws at 87.5%.
His numbers were similar in the LBA - 11.4 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists, for 12.4 PIR.
