Ettore Messina revealed that the club had an agreement for the player to help the team only until the end of the EuroLeague's regular season.
Even though Nicolo Melli couldn't play due to an illness, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot wasn't even registered for the game against Virtus Segafredo Bologna on Thursday. After the game, head coach Ettore Messina provided an update on the player's situation.

The legendary specialist announced that the organization had a deal with Luwawu-Cabarrot for him to only help the team in the EuroLeague.
"The agreement with him ended with the [end of] EuroLeague and I thought of giving more space to [Stefano] Tonut, who will play in the Italian championship," Messina said in the post-game press conference.
After arriving in November in hopes of helping the club amidst an injury bug when Shavon Shields got sidelined for an extended period of time, Luwawu-Cabarrot managed to play 24 games for Milan, averaging 9.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.1 assists for 6 PIR.
His numbers were better in the Italian League (LBA) - 11.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.6 assists for 11.6 PIR.
Milan will finish the season either in 13th or 12th place depending on the outcome of the game between Valencia Basket and FC Barcelona. If Valencia loses, Messina's team will end up in 12th place. If Alex Mumbru's squad comes out with a victory, Milan will finish the EuroLeague season in 13th place.
