Kostas Sloukas will miss the game in Kaunas on Thursday night due to a first-degree calf contusion.

Olympiacos Piraeus head coach Georgios Bartzokas revealed that he will not have veteran guard Kostas Sloukas at his disposal in EuroLeague Round 29 duel against Zalgiris Kaunas.

"Unfortunately, we will miss Kostas Sloukas. But as always, we will try to win the game with our team effort," the 57-year-old specialist said.

Sloukas got injured last week, in a 102-74 win over FC Bayern Munich. After the performed medical tests, Sloukas was diagnosed with a first-degree calf contusion, and he already missed the domestic league game vs. Promitheas on Sunday.

The Greek NT member averages 11.0 points, 2.3 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 16.2 PIR over 24 EuroLeague games this season, while Olympiacos Piraeus sit at the top of the standings with a 20-8 record.

"First place in the standings is important, but nothing has been decided yet. We have six games until the end of the regular season and we will play all six as if they were finals, starting with the match against Zalgiris. It will be difficult," Bartzokas emphasized before the game in Kaunas.

The Zalgiris-Olympiacos duel is scheduled for Thursday at 19:00 CET.
