Referees assessed the episode as a "flagrant foul, penalty two" and Bane finished with 11 points in 22 minutes.
"I mean there have been only a few times in my almost 15-year career when something like that has happened," Love commented on the painful episode post-game.
"Bane is a big boy. I don't know if he was looking for a foul or what it was, but he just got put into a bad position, took it into groin pretty good, and all the men here, you have been hit hard enough to where your back starts hurting, that's where I was, starting spasm a little bit," the 34-year-old added.
Love scored 10 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in more than 18 minutes.
Bam Adebayo scored a game-high 26 points and grabbed 8 rebounds, leading the host Heat to a 138-119 win over the short-handed Grizzlies on Wednesday night.
