Austin Hollins suffered a season-ending knee injury and is expected to have surgery.
Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv swingman Austin Hollins will be out until the end of the season due to a knee injury, according to Omri Manhime of Sport 5.
Hollins is expected to undergo surgery on the knee, via the report. BasketNews sources confirm such information.
Hollins, who already hurt his knee earlier in the season, sustained another setback to the same knee in the latest EuroLeague game against Olympiacos Piraeus last Friday. The 31-year-old had a bad fall in that match.
Austin Hollins has averaged 1.8 points, 1.3 rebounds, 0.3 assists, and 0.9 PIR over 19 EuroLeague games (9 minutes) this season.
He had no role in the domestic league, as Hollins has not been registered for the competition.
Hollins moved to Tel Aviv in the summer of 2022 after a one-year stint at Crvena Zvezda.
Meanwhile, Maccabi share eighth place in the EuroLeague standings with 11 wins and 10 losses. The Israeli powerhouse travels to Spain for a double-round week, where the team plays against FC Barcelona and Valencia Basket.
