After reports about Panathinaikos Athens presenting an official offer to Matt Thomas, it seems like the two sides have already reached an agreement.

According to Georgios Zakkas from SDNA, the player has already signed a contract with the Greek team until the end of the 2023-24 season. The journalist notes that there is a team option in the contract after this season.

Zakkas notes that the two sides negotiated on whether an NBA out should be included in the deal or not. The club eventually succeeded in persuading the player's camp to not include it in the contract.

Georgios Kouvaris from Gazzetta.gr notes that Thomas should earn $400,000 for the remainder of this season. If the contract is renewed next summer, the shooting guard should earn $1,000,000 the next season, Kouvaris writes.

The 28-year-old has played three seasons in the NBA, averaging 4 points and 1.2 rebounds per game, shooting three-pointers at a solid 40.4%. Before coming to the NBA, Thomas played a season for Valencia Basket and went on to win the EuroCup, averaging 12.7 points, 1.3 rebounds, and 1.7 assists for 10.9 PIR in the competition.
