The Oklahoma City Thunder and the Houston Rockets agreed on a trade that would send four players from each team to a different organization to start the season.

Theo Maledon

Position: PG, SG
Age: 21
Height: 192 cm
Weight: 79 kg
Birth place: France

The Thunder will receive David Nwaba, Sterling Brown, Trey Burke, and Marquese Chriss, while the Rockets acquire Derrick Favors, Ty Jerome, Moe Harkless, Theo Maledon, and a 2025 second-round pick via Atlanta Hawks.

The pick is protected 31 through 40, according to The Athletic. If it falls within the protected territory, the Rockets would get the second-best 2026 second-rounder between Dallas Mavericks, Oklahoma City, and Philadelphia 76ers.

The deal helps the Thunder save money by dropping them $10 million under the luxury tax threshold.

Favors has the wealthiest contract of all the players involved ($10.18 million in 2022-23), while only Maledon and Nwaba are under contract for the 2023-24 season, both team options.
