Talking with the media after the game, head coach Sergio Scariolo emphasized how smoothly Brown went from being an unknown in the team to being the leader in clutch situations.

"We couldn't paint a different way to have a new player coming in, learning how to play, learning to play cards, getting together with the guys, and creating great chemistry from the human point of view. Then day-by-day creating leadership, understanding what the team needs," the coach explained.

"We are delighted with him, and we hope he's enjoying this experience," Scariolo added. "His teammates are extremely happy to have him as a person and player inside our family."

Brown himself couldn't contain his happiness after the game, praising his teammates for their effort that resulted in yet another final for Spain.

"First off, the energy was amazing out there. I don't think the crowd came to play tonight," Brown commented. "I felt amazing from the jump, our guys felt amazing from the jump as well. [Dennis] Schroder came out unbelievable and finished the game unbelievably as well."

"It took a lot of guts towards our end. I have to give a special shoutout to Alberto [Diaz]. He came through towards the end and played great defense on Schroder," the guard praised his teammate. "Our strategy worked well towards their offense and towards their defense."

The naturalization of Brown by Spain was welcomed with unpleasant comments both from fans and even the players themselves. However, it seems that the situation has been cleared up, at least during the tournament.

"From the coach's perspective, ever since I got here, he was preaching ball movement. He knew that we didn't have that star on the team. Ball movement was the key to winning, and ball movement relies on team effort. That has been our strategy ever since I arrived," Brown explained.

"We will soon have that star in our team with Willy and Juancho. That ball movement and playing together was the key to our success today and to our success this tournament," the guard said. "One game left, I'm just ready to play."

Spain will battle against France in EuroBasket 2022 final on Sunday. The match is scheduled to start at 20:30 CET.
