The Spanish basketball federation (FEB) has announced the official 12-men roster for the upcoming EuroBasket 2022.

Juan Nunez

Position: PG, SG
Age: 18
Height: 192 cm
Birth place: Spain

Juan Nunez and Fran Guerra were the last two players to be cut from the team, making it the least experienced roster in the country's basketball history.

Nunez was not registered for the last 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers match against the Netherlands last weekend, while Guerra played the least minutes out of all players despite a convincing win.

Earlier this summer, Nunez led Spain to a U20 European title in July, averaging 11.6 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 1.6 steals for 14.4 PIR while being two years younger than the competition. The guard went on to become the youngest ever FIBA U20 European Championship MVP.

Spain is currently ranked no. 6 in BasketNews EuroBasket Power Ranking. The team is placed in Group A together with Montenegro, Georgia, Bulgaria, Belgium, and Turkey.

Spain's final roster:

  • Lorenzo Brown
  • Jaime Fernandez
  • Alberto Díaz
  • Darío Brizuela
  • Xabi Lopez-Arostegui
  • Rudy Fernandez
  • Joel Parra
  • Juancho Hernangomez
  • Jaime Pradilla
  • Usman Garuba
  • Sebas Saiz
  • Willy Hernangomez
