Great Britain became the last country to announce its preliminary 24-player roster for the 2023 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers and EuroBasket 2022 today.
"We’re extremely excited about the journey we have together over the next few weeks. Getting our best squad together again is a great feeling and I’m really looking forward to it," Dan Clark, the captain of the team, said following the announcement.
If selected, Clark would become the only player to have been selected for all five of Great Britain’s EuroBasket appearances (2009, 2011, 2013, 2017, 2022).
The head coach of the national team, Nate Reinking, has also been involved in all five appearances - two as a player (2009, 2011), two as an assistant coach (2013, 2017), and is now set to face his first championship as the head coach.
Great Britain has never advanced past the group stage in any of its previous EuroBasket performances. This year, the country is placed in Group C together with Greece, Italy, Croatia, Ukraine, and Estonia.
