The San Antonio Spurs have waived forward Danilo Gallinari, who is expected to sign with the Boston Celtics after clearing waivers, according to Marc Stein of the Stein Line.

Italian forward's preference is to join the Celtics upon clearing waivers, via ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The San Antonio franchise acquired Gallinari over a week ago in a trade with the Atlanta Hawks centered on Dejounte Murray.
Last season, the 33-year-old veteran averaged 11.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 66 games for the Hawks.
