Jayson Granger's one-year comeback stint with Bitci Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz has come to an end.
The Spanish club announced they're parting ways with the Uruguayan guard. Granger had previously played for Baskonia during the 2017-2020 seasons, becoming an ACB champion in 2020.
According to sources, Unicaja Malaga are interested in Granger and would like to see him on their team. He had previously played for Malaga for two seasons from 2013 to 2015.
"I want to thank the club for giving me the opportunity to be the captain and wear their shirt for four seasons," Granger said in a statement following the news. "I will always be grateful to the fans for the support they have shown me and Baskonia will always be my home. I wish the club and all of Baskonia the best of luck in the future”.
Granger averaged 7.3 points, 2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists for 8 PIR for the club this year in the EuroLeague. The 32-year-old's stats in the Spanish Liga Endesa were a bit better - 8.8 points, 1.9 rebounds, and 3.6 assists for 10 PIR.
Before coming to Baskonia, Granger played for ALBA Berlin where he became the BBL champion and Finals MVP.
