After spending three years in Valencia Basket, Mike Tobey is set to go in a new direction.
According to A Punt Sports, Louis Labeyrie and Olivier Hanlan are set to leave the team together with Tobey. All three players were on expiring contracts, and the club has reportedly decided not to renew them. BasketNews sources confirmed the information.
Tobey was one of the highest-paid players on the club after renewing his contract two years ago. According to the report, the team was not happy with his performance and felt that it did not match the salary the 2.13-meter center received.
Tobey averaged 6.6 points and 4 rebounds for 8.2 PIR in the Spanish ACB. According to BasketNews sources, he is being targeted by several EuroLeague teams following his departure from Valencia Basket.
Hanlan arrived at the club to replace Klemen Prepelic, who suffered a season-ending injury back in March. Even though Hanlan was the top scorer in the Greek League, he did not match Valencia's expectations either.
