Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, three teams from the aggressor's country were suspended from competing in the EuroLeague.
Talking with Greek EEC Web Radio, AX Armani Exchange Milan's general manager Christos Stavropoulos told that no progress has been made so far.
"It will definitely be a 'hot' summer, there are definitely a lot of decisions to be made," Christopoulos said. "These decisions will be made by the shareholders of the teams. There is no decision on the issue with the Russian teams yet, the issue has not even been discussed."
The Italian powerhouse has issues with players having to leave for FIBA qualification windows during the season, which jeopardizes practices and the entire process.
"We have not had any discussion with FIBA, but a solution must be found, because all the teams have a hard time with the windows, because there are too many games, so something has to be done," the general manager told during the interview. "I believe that it is in the common interest of all to find a "golden" cut so that we can help not only the teams but also European basketball."
