Former LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne associate coach Frederic Fauthoux is the new head coach at JL Bourg for the next two seasons, the French club announced.
Fauthoux played for Pau-Orthez from 1993 to 2012, rubbing shoulders with emblematic coaches, such as Michel Gomez, Jacques Monclar or Claude Bergeaud. He won 7 LNB titles as a player, as well as the bronze medal at the 2005 EuroBasket.
In the summer of 2012, he started his career with the Pau-Nord-Est team (NM3) and three years late, in 2015, he took over Paris-Levallois, first as an assistant to Antoine Rigaudeau and then as head coach.
During his five years in Ile-de-France, Fauthoux made the French playoffs several times and shaped his coaching identity.
In the summer of 2020, he moved to LDLC ASVEL to become associate coach to TJ Parker. After two years in Lyon, in which he won his first French league title (and potentially a second one, as ASVEL have already made the semifinals), plus a French Cup trophy, 49-year-old Fauthoux will be coaching the team that ended up 11th in the LNB this season.
