Zenit Saint Petersburg and Mindaugas Kuzminskas decided to terminate the contract early by agreement of both parties, according to the official club's report.
Kuzminskas left the squad and came back to Lithuania, when Russia started the war in Ukraine. Until this day, he has been negotiating the termination of the deal.
The 32-year-old Lithuanian joined Zenit in the summer of 2021. Over 10 VTB United League games, Kuzminskas averaged 7.0 points, 1.9 rebounds, 0.7 assists, and 7.5 PIR.
His Turkish Airlines EuroLeague averages marked 5.0 points, 2.0 rebounds, 0.3 assists, and 4.8 PIR in 22 duels.
On February 10, 2022, the 2.05-meter forward played his best match for the Zenit squad, competing against ALBA Berlin in the strongest continental league. He accumulated 18 points (7/10 2PT), 5 rebounds, and 2 steals.
Prior to Zenit, Kuzminskas represented such European powerhouses as Zalgiris Kaunas, Unicaja Malaga, AX Armani Exchange Milan, Olympiacos Piraeus, and Lokomotiv Kuban Krasnodar.
The Lithuanian athlete also spent the entire 2016-17 season with the New York Knicks. He averaged 6.3 points and 2.0 rebounds over 68 duels in the NBA.
