Armani Exchange Milan announced one member of the team has tested positive for COVID.
"Olimpia Milano announces that a positive case of Covid-19 has emerged within the team group. The person, slightly symptomatic, has been promptly isolated," the announcement reads.
Armani Milan are playing their last EuroLeague regular season game on Thursday, against LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne in Lyon, having already secured the home court advantage and the fourth place in the standings.
However, in Sunday's loss against Dinamo Sassari, the Italian side lost Gigi Datome after just a couple of minutes due to a knee injury.
Assistant coach of the team Gianmarco Pozzecco after the game expressed all his concerns about the situation of the Italian forward: "We're sorry and concerned for what happened to Datome, he had a bad feeling about an unnatural twisting of his left knee".
For a team that it's already dealing with the forced absence of Dinos Mitoglou, who was found positive for a doping test, and has had already many issues with injuries this season, Datome's injury was definitely not good news.
The Italian forward is expected to undergo surgery on his left knee, sources told BasketNews.
