"I had to make a very hard decision, a decision based on the safety of my family's wellbeing. I'd like to thank the entire CSKA staff, organization and I'd like to personally thank Mr. Andrey Vatutin, miss Natalia Furaeva and most importantly coach Itoudis for taking a chance on me and giving me the opportunity to play in the EuroLeague for the first time.

I'd like to shout out the CSKA fans as well, thank you for embracing me when I got to the club in the middle of the season last year, and thank you for supporting me and my family during our time here," Lundberg said.

On February 15, 2021, Lundberg left Zielona Gora and signed with CSKA for the rest of the season. Last summer he penned a three-year (2+1) extension with the Russian club.

Upon the outbreak of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, he left Moscow for safety reasons.

Danish guard averaged 9.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, 2 assists, and 8 PIR over 24 EuroLeague games this season.
