Just before the beginning of the FIBA World Cup Qualifiers window, the Lithuanian national team welcomed some bad news.
Four members of the team – Dovydas Giedraitis, Gytis Masiulis, Kristupas Zemaitis and assistant coach Evaldas Berzininkaitis – tested positive for coronavirus.
Lithuanian Basketball Federation should announce the replacement for the mentioned players soon.
In this window, Lithuania will face Bosnia & Hercegovina twice. The first game will take place on Thursday and the second one on Sunday in Vilnius.
At the moment, Vytenis Cizauskas is the only one point guard left in this Lithuania roster. Mindaugas Girdziunas, Tomas Dimsa, and Margiris Normantas are three other guards.
According to FIBA rules, the replacement players can be selected only from the extended 24-player list, which was announced on February 14.
