Goran Dragic and the San Antonio Spurs are expected to negotiate a contract buyout in the coming week, clearing the way to a formidable list of free-agent suitors for Dragic that now includes the Lakers, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.
The Lakers are planning to join several rivals, including the Los Angeles Clippers, Milwaukee Bucks, Chicago Bulls, Brooklyn Nets, and Golden State Warriors in the aggressive pursuit of Dragic, via the report.
The Toronto Raptors traded the Slovenian guard to San Antonio in exchange for Thaddeus Young.
Dragic has only appeared in five games for the Raptors this season, accumulating 8.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists. Dragic stepped away from the Canadian squad due to personal reasons. He has not played a single match since November 13.
The 35-year-old holds NBA career averages of 13.9 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 4.8 assists over 872 games.
