After having to travel home without playing the Euroleague match against Panathinaikos OPAP Athens, Zalgiris Kaunas has made a personnel decision. The club has decided to part ways with Zoran Dragic.
It was reported yesterday that, per Basketnews sources, the Slovenian forward was going to leave Zalgiris sooner or later. According to the official announcement, the contract with 32-year-old Slovenian was cut on mutual agreement.
The experienced forward had joined Zalgiris on the last day of October. He played in 9 Euroleague games, averaging 3.9 points and 1.2 rebounds for 2.1 PIR.
Dragic also participated in 4 Lithuanian League matches, scoring 6.3 points and grabbing 1.2 rebounds per game.
Dragic is no longer eligible to play in the Euroleague since the transfer window has already closed before round 18. If the player, who can play both as a guard and as a forward, joins a Euroleague team, he could only play in the local league.
