Three Panathinaikos OPAP Athens members tested positive for COVID-19 today, via the official team's statement.
Because of such a situation, EuroLeague officially suspended the Panathinaikos-Zalgiris duel, which was originally scheduled for tonight, 20:00 CET.
"The Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season Round 18 game between Panathinaikos OPAP Athens and Zalgiris Kaunas, originally scheduled to be played on Thursday, December 30, has been suspended," EuroLeague reported.
"Panathinaikos requested the suspension after several team members tested positive for COVID-19, which leaves it without the minimum eight players on the Authorization List fit to play."
According to EuroLeague Basketball, it will coordinate with both teams the best options to reschedule the game. Alternative dates will be announced on official EuroLeague Basketball platforms.
With three more positive test results, including all Panathinaikos players and staff members, the total number of positive cases increased to ten.
Out of a total of ten cases, seven are related to athletes.
