Japan crushed Belgium 87-59 (30-11, 14-17, 22-10, 21-21) with the help of their NBA duo.
Washington Wizards forward Rui Hachimura led Japan with 24 points. He was aided by the Toronto Raptors swingman Yuta Watanabe, who added 15.
Manu Lecomte scored 12 points to lead Belgium.
Japan will play in Group C of the Tokyo Olympics, with Slovenia, Argentina, and Spain.
