Lietkabelis Panevezys bolstered their frontcourt by inking power forward Gediminas Orelik to a one-year deal, the club announced Sunday.

Orelik (31, 2.00 meters) arrives from Spars Realway Sarajevo, where he averaged 11.3 points in 11 Bosnian League games last season. He started the 2020-21 campaign with Siauliai, averaging 11.6 points and 3.8 rebounds in 5 Lithuanian League games before joining Spars.

Orelik started his career with Siauliai and also played for Pieno Zvaigzdes, Meresta Pakruojis, Rudupis Prienu, and Rytas Vilnius of Lithuania, Banvit Bandirma of Turkey, and Umana Reyer Venice of Italy before rejoining Siauliai in 2020. He has also been a member of the Lithuanian U16 and U18 national teams.

In 52 7DAYS EuroCup career games with Siauliai, Rudupis, and Rytas, Orelik averaged 10.4 points and 3.1 rebounds. He returns to the competition for the first time since December 2015.

Lietkabelis will compete in Group A in the upcoming EuroCup season.
