Shane Larkin will not be going to Canada with Turkey national team. As Turkish basketball federation informed, newly crowned EuroLeague and Turkish league champion is out with an injury.

According to the announcement, guard is dealing with a herniated disc, an injury that he suffered during Game 3 of Turkish league finals against Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul.

There was hope that Larkin would recover in time for the Olympic Qualification Tournament, however, the most recent MRI prevented it from happening.

Shane Larkin led the EuroLeague in scoring (22 pts) two years ago, when Anadolu Efes Istanbul was league’s leading team but couldn’t claim the title because of pandemic-canceled season. He was once again among the EuroLeague top scorers (15 pts) this season and upped his game when it mattered most – scored 21 points in a title-winning game against FC Barcelona.

Turkish national team will participate in Olympic Qualification Tournament in Victoria, Canada. They will be in Group B with Uruguay and Czech Republic.
