FC Barcelona could not handle Olympiacos Piraeus efficiency in the last quarter, suffering their first loss of the EuroLeague season (70-80).  The Blaugranas tried to erase an 11-point deficit in the second half, but Giannoulis Larentzakis' daggers sealed the game.

Giannoulis Laretzakis became the unlikely hero in Olympiacos Piraeus first match in the EuroLeague as the Greek team defeated FC Barcelona 80-70 (13-12, 21-12, 23-21, 23-21). With Olympiacos leading by 6 with 3 minutes to go in the match (68-62), Larentzakis took the game over. The Greek guard first hit a three-pointer with two minutes left to increase the lead to nine (71-62).
