Romeo Sacchetti sacked from Italy's head coach position

The Italian Basketball Federation announced that, at the end of a meeting held today in Rome between FIP president Giovanni Petrucci and coach Romeo Sacchetti, the contractual agreement between the parties had been resolved, resulting in the 68-year-old head coach's exit.

"Sacchetti, who has been in office since September 2017 for a total of 50 matches on the Azzurra bench, deserves a heartfelt 'thank you' for the professionalism and commitment shown over the years and best wishes for the continuation of his career," the announcement reads.
