Claudio Coldebella, the expected new sports director of Maccabi Tel Aviv, has arrived in Israel for a short visit. He is set to officially sign his contract with the club, marking a major step in the team's management rebuild.

Maccabi Paytika Tel Aviv is on the verge of a major managerial change as Claudio Coldebella, the highly experienced former basketball executive, arrives in Israel for a brief visit.

As first reported by ONE, Coldebella is expected to finalize his contract and officially take over as the club’s new General Manager.

Coldebella, 56, comes with an extensive background as both a player and in basketball management. His playing career includes winning the prestigious Italian League Championship, the Coppa Italia, and the Greek Cup.

He played for top clubs such as Virtus Segafredo Bologna and EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, where he ended his playing days and transitioned to a coaching role.

His expertise as an assistant coach later led him to one of his most notable roles, becoming the general manager of Benetton Treviso in 2008.

Coldebella also held this position with Varese and Unics Kazan, where he was integral in constructing one of the most formidable teams in European basketball during the 2021-22 season.

Since 2023, Coldebella has been working as the general manager for Reggio Emilia.
