Fernando was a highly coveted player on the EuroLeague market, thanks to his combination of physicality and energy.
The big man started the 2024-25 season in the NBA, where he averaged 3.4 points and 3.0 rebounds in 8.6 minutes per game for the Raptors.
Among his notable performances this season were an 8-point, 13-rebound, 2-block game against the Milwaukee Bucks on November 16 and a 9-point, 4-rebound, 5-assist effort against the Detroit Pistons on November 26.
Fernando excels at scoring near the basket, using his strength and coordination to outmuscle opponents. While not known for his ability to guard on the perimeter, he thrives as a traditional interior big man, adept at rebounding and protecting the rim.
Over his NBA career, Fernando played 220 games with the Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Houston Rockets, and Toronto Raptors, averaging 4.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 0.5 blocks in 10.6 minutes per game.
He stepped up during the Hawks' play-in push last season, contributing 7.5 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 1.1 blocks in March while shooting 63% on two-point attempts.
