Raul Neto's injury woes continue as the Barcelona guard suffers a hamstring setback in just his second EuroLeague game of the season, following an adductor injury in his debut.
FC Barcelona point guard Raul Neto can't catch a break from injuries. The Spanish club announced that Neto sustained a hamstring injury in his left thigh during Friday's EuroLeague Round 18 matchup against Crvena Zvezda.
As a result, Neto will miss the ACB League derby against Real Madrid on Sunday night. His final prognosis will depend on further medical tests to be conducted in the coming days.
Neto joined Barcelona on November 25 but has struggled to stay healthy. In his debut game against Real Madrid in EuroLeague Round 12, he suffered an adductor injury that sidelined him for five EuroLeague games.
He returned to action against Crvena Zvezda but was injured again.
So far, Neto has played just two EuroLeague games this season, totaling five points in seven minutes on the court.
The Brazilian playmaker's challenges extend beyond this season. Before the 2023–24 campaign, Neto signed with Fenerbahce but didn't appear in any games due to a ruptured patellar tendon in his right knee.
Despite this setback, Neto represented Brazil in the 2024 Paris Olympics, averaging 4.0 points, 1.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists, and a 7.0 efficiency rating in two games.
He also played one game in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament, but his participation was cut short by a left thigh strain.
