Silver discussed the ongoing rumors regarding the NBA potentially being involved in creating a league in Europe. Silver did not confirm anything but hinted that something is going on, pointing out the commercial potential to create something special in Europe

“We’re not ready to make any public announcements. We haven’t made any internal decisions yet, but I do think there continues to be an enormous opportunity to take basketball to another level in Europe," Silver noted.

Silver than talked about what he thinks can be improved in European basketball.

"I think the quality of the basketball in Europe has been fantastic. Many of our top players, of course, are from Europe, but we think there is more of a commercial and fan opportunity to create something special in Europe,” Silver concluded.

There have been rumors that the NBA already contacted Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens, Real Madrid, and Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul. But the clubs denied any discussions being held. What is evident is that the future of European basketball is unknown, we will have to wait and see what the future holds for it.
