Olympiacos signed 26-year-old Ghanaian center Nathan Mensah, known for his 226 cm wingspan and strong defensive skills, to address their injury-depleted frontcourt.
Olympiacos Piraeus have bolstered their frontcourt by signing Ghanaian center Nathan Mensah to a deal that runs until the end of the season, with an option for a one-year extension.
The 26-year-old big man, standing at 2.10 meters, arrives at a crucial time for the Greek club. Olympiacos recently faced an injury crisis, losing Moses Wright for the season and seeing Moustapha Fall sidelined for a EuroLeague game against Paris Basketball.
With only one center available, the team urgently needed reinforcements.
Mensah began his professional career after going undrafted in 2023.
He started with the Greensboro Swarm and split his time last season between the G-League affiliate and the Charlotte Hornets.
This year, he played for the Austin Spurs, the San Antonio Spurs' G-League affiliate, where he averaged 5.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks across 12 games.
Mensah logged 25 NBA games with the Hornets in 2023-24, contributing 1.3 points per contest.
Known for his remarkable 226 cm wingspan, he played college basketball at San Diego State.
