Elie Okobo talks about Monaco's victory against ASVEL and a way to continue in the future. He also reflects on Sasa Obradovic being fired.
In the wake of AS Monaco's 103-92 Euroleague victory over LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne on Thursday, guard Elie Okobo reflected on the team's collective effort and the changes needed after the departure of coach Sasa Obradovic.
Okobo, who scored 27 points in the win, emphasized the importance of team cohesion and the steps they must take to improve.
"We saw a team spirit, more assists than usual, we played hard defensively. Even when they made their run, we stayed focused. Everyone encouraged each other and kept their heads up," Okobo said, reflecting on the game as L'Equipe reports.
He also acknowledged the emotional impact of Obradovic's departure.
"After the coach left, we had meetings. We talked to each other, with the staff and the players. Seeing him leave is a failure. He has done a lot for me since I arrived," Okobo said.

Okobo also emphasized the need for individual introspection within the team.
"Everyone must look at themselves in front of the mirror and say, what can we do better? We played a lot individually. We didn't feel like a team from the start. We have to get back into it. We did it pretty well tonight," the Monaco guard concluded.
Okobo has been averaging 14.9 points and 4 assists in the EuroLeague this season.
