Kevin Punter discuss his emotions ahead of the upcoming against Partizan and argues that his former team's results don't show the real picture.
Former Partizan Mozzart Bet captain Kevin Punter, now a member of Barcelona FC, spoke with Mozzart Sport ahead of his return to Belgrade for Wednesday's game at the Belgrade Arena.
Punter, who made a significant impact during his three seasons with Partizan, is preparing for a highly emotional matchup against his former team.
"It will be emotional... I don't know what to expect," Punter said. "I don't know if the emotions will hit me before, during, or after the game, but I'm ready. I spent three years at Partizan, built lifelong connections, and we did something special through all the ups and downs. It was crazy but unforgettable."
Reflecting on his time in Belgrade, Punter recalled the deep connection he had with both his teammates and the fans, something he hadn't experienced elsewhere.
"I feel good in Barcelona; I enjoy the vibe of the city," he said, adding with a laugh, "I can walk down the street normally here, which I couldn't do in my last year in Belgrade."
Despite the change in scenery, he remains grounded and focused on his role with Barcelona, now facing Partizan in a crucial game.
Punter was also asked about Partizan's slow start to the season, with only two wins and six losses.
"Their record doesn't reflect what I see on the court," he explained. "They're a good team, for sure. They're fighting, and they have quality. I think everything will click for them, and it'll all come together. I see some good things in the way the coaching staff, led by Željko Obradović, is working with them."
