Dzanan Musa suffered an injury to the deltoid ligament of his right ankle. He is expected to miss multiple weeks of EuroLeague action.
Dzanan Musa was an unexpected late scratch in the Real Madrid's game against Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv on Thursday. The player is set to miss more time.
Real Madrid officially announced that Musa had suffered an injury to the deltoid ligament of his right ankle.
Six years ago, a similar injury sidelined then-Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine. He was projected to miss two to four weeks at the time but returned to the court almost two weeks later.
In six games this EuroLeague season, Musa averaged 13.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 2.2 assists for 11.8 PIR for Real Madrid. His stats were similar in the Spanish Liga Endesa (ACB) - 11.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 1 assist for 14 PIR.
Additionally, Usman Garuba, who managed to play in just one EuroLeague game so far, is not expected to return soon, Carlos Sánchez Blas reports.
