EA7 Emporio Armani Milan have officially announced that forward Shavon Shields suffered a muscle injury in the right inguinal region during last Sunday's domestic game against Napoli Basket. His condition will be re-evaluated in two weeks.
On Monday, Olimpia Milano confirmed that both Shields and head coach Ettore Messina would miss the EuroLeague Round 6 game against Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz.
The 30-year-old Shields has had a solid start to the EuroLeague season, averaging 11.6 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.6 assists over 29:43 minutes in his first five games.
As they prepare for Tuesday night's game in Vitoria, Milan will be looking to improve their current 1-4 record before hosting Virtus Segafredo Bologna in the Italian derby on Thursday.
