"Nico Laprovittola has sprained right knee ligament. Tests to be carried out this Monday will determine the exact extent of the injury," Barca officially announced after the match.
The incident occurred with 3:32 remaining in the fourth quarter when Laprovittola attempted a fastbreak layup, drawing a foul from Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot. However, he landed awkwardly, causing his knee to bend unnaturally.
Laprovittola immediately fell to the floor, clutching his right knee and screaming in pain.
Unable to put any weight on his leg, Jan Vesely and the medical staff helped him off the court straight to the locker room.
"I want to wait for the tests, but it doesn't look good," coach Joan Penarroya said, via Noelia Gomez Mira.
Though Laprovittola went scoreless, he contributed eight assists in just over 16 minutes of play. Barca ended up losing the home game, 89-93.
So far this EuroLeague season, the Argentine guard has averaged 10.0 points, 6.3 assists, and 13.3 PIR over four games.
