Nebojsa Covic, the newly-elected president of the Serbian Basketball Federation, recently met with coach Svetislav Pesic and agreed in principle to continue his role as the head coach of the Serbian national team until the end of the FIBA EuroBasket 2025, as reported by Predrag Saric of Meridian Sport.

The 75-year-old Pesic is set to lead the team in two upcoming games against Denmark during the FIBA EuroBasket Qualifiers in November.

Although his contract expired on September 30, and he initially stepped down from his position, Covic's primary goal upon taking office was to bring Pesic back. The two have had multiple discussions on this matter.

Pesic recently led Serbia to a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Under his guidance, the team also secured silver at the FIBA World Cup 2023.
