Fenerbahce informed that Luka Samanic has traveled to Croatia to deal with personal matters.

Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul reacted to the reports about them parting ways with big man Luka Samanic

The Turkish club clarified that the Crotian center has taken a leave of absence for personal reasons and went to his country on Friday, September 6th.

"The process is being closely monitored by our officials, and the necessary information regarding our player's situation will be provided in the coming days. We'll present it to the public," Fenerbahce's information reads .

According to Yagız Sabuncuoglu from Sports Digitale, Fenerbahce are eager to let Samanic go and replace him with  Khem Birch.

Samanic spent the last season with the  Utah Jazz  in the NBA, averaging 4.1 points and 2.4 rebounds in 43 games.

Birch, meanwhile, played for  Girona Basquet  in the Spanish Liga Endesa (ACB) last season after joining the club in February 2024, where he averaged 8.8 points and 5.7 rebounds.

The former NBA big man represented the Canadian national team in the 2024 Paris Olympic Games this summer, averaging 3.3 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.
