Olympiacos Piraeus honored their former captain Georgios Printezis in a special ceremony, with club presidents Panagiotis and Giorgos Angelopoulos leading the tributes.
The Angelopoulos brothers reflected on Printezis' immense contributions to the team and the pivotal moments that shaped Olympiacos’ recent success.
Panagiotis Angelopoulos spoke about Printezis' dedication and hard work over his long career, describing him as the embodiment of the team's spirit.
"For me, Printezis represents soul, dedication, hard work, and longevity. He had a great career, and we experienced incredible moments together—EuroLeague titles, championships, cups, and tough times. There is always an end for every athlete, but I wish him the best and hope he stays with Olympiacos forever," he said.
Giorgos Angelopoulos highlighted Printezis’ game-winning basket in the 2012 EuroLeague Final in Istanbul as a turning point in the club's history.
"That shot in 2012 changed Olympiacos' history. It was the best moment for all of us, and from that point on, everything changed for the club and our lives," he recalled, noting that Printezis' legacy goes beyond titles and is defined by unforgettable moments.
The presidents also recalled other key memories, such as a crucial three-pointer against Barcelona in 2015 and Vassilis Spanoulis’ game-winner in 2016. For the Angelopoulos brothers, these moments capture the essence of sports: not just the trophies but the effort and unforgettable experiences that come with them.
