Moneke, who was linked with several clubs during the off-season, clarified that these were nothing more than empty stories.
"I was on vacation when I started receiving false news about myself," Moneke told Noticias de Alava.
Moneke also shared his disappointment about the false information circulating around his personal life.
"What disappointed me the most was when people began telling me personal things about myself that were not true. It really made me angry. I knew I wasn't going anywhere and that I would be returning," he explained.
Despite the rumors, Moneke remains fully committed to Baskonia for the upcoming season.
The Nigerian forward confirmed that he was never close to leaving Baskonia and had no direct conversations with any other team.
"I was never even close to leaving Baskonia, nor did I have any direct talks with other teams," he added.
Moneke also commented on his current collaboration with Baskonia's head coach Pablo Laso, highlighting his positive experience.
"I love him, I love everything about him. We haven't played a single game yet, but just from our communication, you can see what kind of person he is," Moneke concluded.
Last season, Moneke averaged 15.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game for Baskonia.
