Rasho Nesterovic honored Goran Dragic's retirement by encouraging him to enjoy life in Miami.
Slovenian basketball legend Rasho Nesterovic, who retired in 2011, made a brief return to the court for the first time in over a decade at Goran Dragic's retirement event, 'I Feel Slovenia Night of the Dragon.'
Nesterovic played for just over four minutes in Ljubljana, Slovenia, to honor Dragic's career.
"What he [Goran] did in the past, not just for Slovenians but also for Europeans and the world of basketball, he deserved so many people to wish him a good retirement," Nesterovic told the media after the game.
Nesterovic, now 48, also shared a personal message for Dragic:
"He worked hard and settled well. So enjoy life in Miami from now on, and then come to Slovenia to visit us. But we're going to go to visit him, it's much easier," added the NBA champion (2005) and EuroLeague winner (1998).
When asked about another Slovenian star, Luka Doncic, and what it would take for him to win an NBA championship with the Dallas Mavericks, Nesterovic admitted that his attention has shifted away from the strongest league in the world.
"I don't follow the NBA too much," noted Nesterovic, a former NBAer with the Timberwolves (1999-03), Spurs (2003-06), Raptors (2006-08, 2009-10), and Pacers (2008-09). "I watch more European basketball now."
