According to ESPN's Olgun Uluc, Durant, who is dealing with a calf injury, won't play against Australia tonight, Monday, in Abu Dhabi. After this game, Team USA will face Serbia on Wednesday.

Durant, turning 36 in September, has struggled with various leg injuries in recent years. He missed the entire 2019-20 season due to a torn right Achilles suffered in the 2019 NBA Finals. In the following three seasons, he played 35, 55, and 47 games, respectively.

Last season, he appeared in 75 games for the Phoenix Suns, averaging 27.1 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 5.0 assists.

Durant is a three-time Olympic gold medalist and holds several Team USA records, including all-time points (435), points per game (19.8), field goals (146), three-point field goals (74), and free throws (69).

He has led the Olympic tournament in scoring in the past three Games, averaging 20.7 points per game in Tokyo 2020, 19.5 in London 2012, and 19.4 in Rio 2016.

Team USA, aiming for a fifth consecutive gold medal, begins pool play at the Paris Olympics on July 28 against Serbia, followed by games against South Sudan on July 31 and Puerto Rico on August 3.
