Spain are hosting Lebanon on July 2 in the Olympic QT opener in Valencia. As the team's training camp has entered its final stage, coach Sergio Scariolo has to deal with an unexpected development.

Alex Abrines is suffering from a small fibrillar rupture, which the Italian tactician called 'nothing serious', but can still deprive Barca's guard-forward of his participation in the tournament.

Scariolo said "there's great concern" about Abrines' status and also uncertainty as to whether the veteran player will be ready when the tourney tips off.

"Obviously, we are talking about a game on Tuesday and a decision of the final roster will be made on Sunday. We have very short deadlines," Scariolo noted and pointed out that it's more likely that Abrines will be ruled out rather than stay on the roster.

He also clarified that Spain are not epxloring any last-minute additions in order to fill in the potential gap of Abrines.

"We're sticking to those who are here," he said.

"We are making different plans. There is a Plan A and a Plan B. There aren't many options. Of course, he will be with the team," Scariolo continued.

"Because he must recover as soon as possible, anyway. Mostly for his health and then for the future."
