Baskonia Vitoria-Gasteiz forward Nikos Rogkavopoulos will not help the Greek national team in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Athens.

As first reported by Sotiris Vetakis, Rogkavopoulos cited excessive fatigue and a challenging season as the reasons behind his decision.

During the past season in the EuroLeague, Rogkavopoulos averaged 6.1 points and 1.7 rebounds in 29 appearances. In the ACB League, he recorded 5.2 points and 3.2 rebounds across 26 games.

He had been dealing with a right calf injury at the beginning of the 2023-24 season.

Rogkavopoulos played in last year's FIBA World Cup, posting 8.2 points per game.

Greece is set to face off against Egypt and the Dominican Republic in Group B as they start on their quest for a spot in the Paris Olympics, with their journey kicking off on July 3rd.
