Martin Hermannsson and Valencia Basket mutually terminated their contract, concluding his four-season tenure marked by injuries, limited playing time, and 145 games with the Spanish club. He officially signed with ALBA until the end of the 2025-26 season.
Valencia Basket and Icelandic point guard Martin Hermannsson have mutually agreed to terminate their contract, which was in effect until the end of the current season.
The 29-year-old returns to ALBA Berlin, where he played from 2018 to 2020. Hermannsson signed a contract until the end of the 2025-26 season with the German team.
This move marks the conclusion of Hermannsson's four-season tenure with Valencia, during which he played a total of 145 games.
However, this season saw Hermannsson's limited participation, featuring in just four EuroLeague games. In those appearances, he averaged 3.0 points and 1.8 assists over 10 minutes. Additionally, he played in three ACB League matches.
Hermannsson's time with Valencia was marred by a severe injury -- a left knee ACL tear before the summer of 2022. In efforts to address the issue, he underwent two surgeries.
