In his first season in EuroCup, Nadir Hifi has been an absolute beast for Paris Basketball. The 21-year-old point guard is currently the top scorer of the competition, and his electrifying style of play is taking over Paris and the rest of the continent. One question remains: can he become a star at the EuroLeague level?

The EuroCup season is entering its climax. In a little over a month, it will come to the end of the regular season, and then it will be playoff time. If there is one team that is almost dominating this regular season, it is Paris Basketball.

The French team leads Group A with an impressive 12-1 record.

The Parisians have been almost unstoppable so far. With the arrival of coach Tuomas Iisalo from Bonn in the summer and the entry of several players who also joined from the German team, Paris Basketball has turned into a steamroller.

Currently, the Parisians have the best offense in the competition with an average of almost 100 points per game (99.1), the best offensive rating (129.7 points per 100 possessions), the fifth-best defensive rating (104.8 points allowed per 100 possessions) and the best net rating (an impressive +25).

The last EuroCup loss was in mid-November when the Parisians lost at home to Besiktas. Should results continue to accompany Paris Basketball, the French team could not only advance directly to the quarterfinals, skipping the round of 16, but would clearly be one of, if not the leading candidate to win the competition.

There are several key players on this team, starting with T.J. Shorts, who arrived from Bonn just like Iisalo, but the player who is probably attracting the most attention is Nadir Hifi.

The 21-year-old French-Algerian was one of the most coveted players on the French market this summer, as there was considerable hype after his excellent season with Le Portel.
