Belgrade's Pionir, now known as the Aleksandar Nikolic Hall, should host Hapoel Jerusalem's upcoming BCL game against Galatasaray. Belgrade is seen as an option for teams participating in EuroLeague competitions as well.
With a week remaining until their home game against Galatasaray Ekmas Istanbul in the Basketball Champions League, Hapoel Jerusalem haven't officially found their home away from home yet.
With a war going on in Israel, the team is unable to host the match in the country. As such, a new venue and a new host country have to be chosen for the game set to take place on November 1st.
According to Arale Weisberg from Walla Sport, the matchup will take place at the iconic Pionir Hall, now known as the Aleksandar Nikolic Hall.
The Israeli team has already been practicing near Belgrade for some time. The alternative of switching games, a practice employed by other top European leagues, was also discussed, but it was dismissed due to the Israeli government's high-level warning that was issued to the country's citizens, urging them to leave Turkey.
The EuroLeague will hold a shareholders meeting on Tuesday to determine the home venues for Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv and Hapoel Shlomo Tel Aviv. Belgrade is seen as one of the options for the two teams as well.
